Findley State Park is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in the Ohio
State Park system, and now offers electricity on campsites 169 through
259. Originally a state forest, the campground is heavily wooded with
pine, hickory, maple and oak trees. Findley offers 270 campsites, three
rustic camper cabins and two organized group camp areas. The group camp
areas are walk-in only and rent for $40.00 per night up to 40 people and
reservations can be made by calling the park office at 440-647-5749
during normal business hours.

Can I make a reservation?
Yes, reservations are accepted for Findley State Park and all other Ohio
State Parks for campsites, cabins and getaway rentals (camper cabins,
yurts, teepees, etc. Reservations for camping, cabins and getaway
rentals may be placed by calling 1-866-OHIOPARKS (1-866-644-6727) or
online at www.ohiostateparks.org. There is a non-refundable fee of $8.25
to make a reservation plus the cost of each nights stay. Reservations
can be made up to six months in advance of the arrival date. A
reservation for the group areas at Findley State Park can be made by
calling the park office at 440-647-5749, Monday-Friday.
How much does it cost to camp at Findley?
The winter rate November 1 - March 31 for
camping is $20.00 non-electric and $24.00 electric
per night, up to six people on the campsite.
April 1, the in-season rate goes up to $22.00 non-electric and
$26.00 electric per night. There is a $1.00 rate increase on Friday and
Saturday starting Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, and a
$2.00 increase for summer holiday weekends (Fri., Sat. & Sun.).
What is a Rustic Camper Cabin?
These are one room 13' x 13' cabins that offer a full size bed, bunk
bed, small refrigerator and electrical outlets. There is also a porch
and swing, waist high grill, fire ring and picnic table at each
site. The cost is $50.00 per night plus tax, and reservations are
recommended, but when they are not reserved they are available on a
first come first serve basis.
Do you have full service hook-up?
No, at this time there are no full service campsites at Findley, but the
park offers 90 electrical campsites with 50 amp service. A centralized
dump station has been reconstructed. Non-campers can utilize this
facility for a $10.00 fee.
How long can I stay?
From April through October the maximum stay at Findley is 14 days in a
30 day period. November through March allows a maximum stay of 30 days
in a 45 day period.
Are pets permitted to camp?
Yes, a maximum of two pets (dog/cat only) are permitted on any of the
campsite in the campground at no additional cost. Animals must have
current rabies inoculation and be attended to at all times in the
park. Pet owners must follow all other pet camping rules. Pets are not
permitted in camper cabins or the group camp area.
What methods of payment are accepted?
Payment options are cash, check with proper ID, major credit cards
(Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover).
What type of activities do you have?
Within the campground, there are a wide variety of activities. We offer
a playground area for children, a game room, volleyball court,
basketball hoop and horseshoe pits. The nature center offers hands on
activities when open and our park naturalist offers activities
Wednesday-Saturday. Games such as cards, chess, checkers and game boards
can be signed out at the camp office. The park offers 16 miles of hiking
trails, a beach for swimming and a boat rental. Off road bicycling is
permitted on all of the park's trails, except for parts of the Buckeye
Trail. A nine hole disc golf course is available on the day use side of
the park and is free to play.
Is there a store in the campground?
Yes, there is a camp store at Findley that offers firewood, ice, grocery
and toiletry items as well as apparel, toys and souvenirs.
Are there any discounts offered at Findley?
Yes, the most popular discount is the Golden Buckeye Card. All Ohioans
age 60 or better, as well as adults age 18-59 with disabilities as
defined by Social Security, are eligible for this free card. At all Ohio
State Parks, the discount for camping is 50% off Sunday-Thursday nights
and 10% off Friday and Saturday nights. The Golden Buckeye Card is also
honored at other Ohio State Park facilities such as boat rentals,
lodges, cabins and golf courses for a 10% discount.
Can I collect firewood in the campground?
Collection of firewood or use of a chainsaw is prohibited at Findley
State Park. Firewood needs to be brought in or purchased at the Camp
Store at the park. Findley State Park is in a quarantine area for the
Emerald Ash Borer; therefore, no wood is to be moved outside of Lorain
County after your stay.
Are there any gates that close at a certain time?
There are no gates that close the campground after a certain time. The
area does become restricted, so visitors must leave the area at 10:00
p.m. and day use park visitors must leave by 11:00 p.m. If you are a
registered camper, you may enter and exit the park at anytime.
